Hyden Farm is a small, family run farm in the South Downs National Park - fifth generation farmers in fact (we are nothing if not established locals!). Our passion is in producing the best lamb, pork, beef and poultry you can find. We are proud to say it is also award winning produce.

Keeping local breeds suited to the environment means they do well with little intervention – in short they are reared naturally. You will find Longhorn Cattle, Hampshire and Southdown Sheep, Oxford Sandy and Black & Saddleback pigs gracing our pastures. You can find out more on ‘Our Animals’ page.

We know we are privileged to live where we do and take our responsibility to care for the countryside seriously. We aim to farm in a way that protects our environment for today and tomorrow, which is why we farm the pastures organically- as well as being part of higher level stewardship scheme (a scheme that monitors environmental best practice). Welfare is top of the agenda and we know well cared for animals are happy animals. From this we are rewarded with fantastic products, full of maturity and flavour – we hope you will agree!

Happy New Year!! Firstly a HUGE thank you, to all our customers for your continued support and custom throughout 2011. We really do appreciate you all as without your valued support and commitment to buying through farmers' markets or directly from us, we would not be here to say so! We look forward to continuing to supply you in the months to come.

We have just about recovered from the mayhem of the festive holiday and are now gearing up for lambing. The Hampshires will be the first to lamb (although thanks to a wayward ram lamb we already have a selection of newborns!!). Our main flock will lamb in spring. After the success of our lambing open day last year we will open our gates for visitors again in April. Keep an eye on our website for dates and details.

We will be back to farmers' markets at the end of January and we look forward to seeing you at Winchester on the 29th. In the meantime you are more than welcome to come up and see us at the farm for meat, just give us a ring and we will be pleased to meet with you.
